Swimsuit-clad skiers slide down slopes in Russia's Sochi

Seven hundred Russians stripped down to their swimsuits and trunks and slid down mountain slopes for a festival in Russian resort city of Sochi on Saturday (April 10).

A total of 738 riders wearing bright bikinis braved the 8 degrees Celsius (46.4°F) cold and defied COVID-19 restrictions for the annual BoogelWoogel Carnival in Sochi's Rosa Khutor resort.

At 1170 meters above sea level, the resort is a popular destination for skiers and snowboarders.

The festival began in 2016 and has been held each year since, except in 2020 when the pandemic forced organisers to cancel.
